Relaxing Music

For just about a year ago, I wrote about relaxing and acoustic music, in an article called “Time to Relax?” Now it’s that time of the year again. It’s cold outside, you spend more time inside and you still need some good relaxing music.
This time I recommend Barbara Hills and John Rhyman.

Barbara Hills
Barbara Hills is a composer, performer, engineer, and producer from England. Who produce dreamy, imaginary and natural music. She has released Scapes (2008) and In the Shadows of Roasting Spring (2009).

This music is like a natural journey. The combination of some classical instruments and a pure natural ambience and harmonic sound makes this music to a classical and dreamy piece of work.

It must be the combination of classical instruments and a steady and at the same time peaceful and relaxing rhythms that gives this music a atmospheric and uplifting sound. And it’s perfect for meditation.

John Rhyman
John Ryhman was born in Montreal, Canada and are now living in Madrid, Spain. His music can be described as uplifting and instrumental new age synth.
He does everything himself, and have so far released five records; Mag(Net)ic Keys, Space Freedom, Enchanted, Autumn Rain and Feelings From The Past.

This music is easy to like if you’re into a mellow and classical piano, combined with a mellow new age sound. The combination of a smooth and uplifting instrumental sound makes this music sound both relaxing and symphonic.

The smooth and floating sound from this music makes this perfect music to daydream to.

Time to relax?

A busy weekday can often be a pain. And the best thing you can do, is to relax.

You need music! Relaxing and acoustic music. I recommend John Laval, Camembert and Benjamin Robinson.

John Laval

Acoustic, unique music from the wonderful north of Lake District, UK. This music never gets old, no matter how many times you listen to it. It’s the soft voice, the soft guitar and the extra touch of different sounds effects that makes this music so great.

John Laval has so far released “Stories“; a great EP that includes the songs Stories, You watch me drown, In the line of fire and The fortune.
He’ve also recently composed the soundtrack of a short movie, called “Killing Time”. And a new album will be available in 2010.

Camembert

Camembert was formed in late 2008 in a bedroom in Glasgow by Tim Kwant, Heather Thikey, Joe Williams and Rob Williams.

They have a four-track demo set available on last.fm and some new demos on MySpace.

This is quiet and at the same time innovative and experimental pop. Their sound is unique and carry the fine influences of being a electronic and acoustic live band.

Benjamin Robinson

Benjamin Robinson is a singer and songwriter from Leicester, Midland. His biggest inspiration comes from the one and only Charlie Chaplin and the artwork to J.W Waterhouse and M. Whelan – that’s reason enough to check out the music. He has given out three albums/EP; Faint transmissions, Ammomites and shells and Miscellaneous oddities.

This music isn’t so quiet as the previous artists, but still relaxing. This is dreamy, creative and emotional music on its very best.
