Uno Møller – ‘How To Lead You Home’

Uno Møller – ‘How To Lead You Home’

Uno Møller is a Norwegian singer and songwriter, previously known as the lead singer of Wintermare.

He started his songwriting project in 2009, and wrote a series of EPs titled “Lost in My Beautiful Colorball” and “From Me to Myself”.

His last single “How to Lead You Home” was released through Lazy Acre Records on May 17.

“How to Lead You Home” is first single out from Uno Møller’s debut album – due to be released in the summer of 2010, and consist of two exclusive new b-sides “Hola!” and “Sailing with Hats”.

The first thing you’ll probably think of when you hear Uno Møller’s music for the first time is the variety of his music.

On three tracks you’ll hear everything from a gentle, fragile and acoustically beautiful musical composition in “How to Lead You Home” and “Hola!”, to an experimental and pure instrumental track in “Sailing with Hats”.

This is the kind of music you can just sit down, listen to, and just enjoy.

Jane Carrey Band

Jane Carrey Band

Jane Carrey Band are Jane Carrey (vocals/guitars), Terry Goldberg (drums), Ian Sloane (bass) and Daniel Sahagun (guitar), a band formed in Los Angeles in 2008.

Jane Carrey grew up in a family of carnies, with a father, (Jim Carrey), as a professional comedian, inspired her to write happy songs of otherwise sad topics, and to see the beauty even in the deepest melancholy.

The band has been playing around in the LA area since the formation, and a self-titled debut album was released in October ’09.

The typical sound of Jane Carrey band is an upbeat mixture of modern pop, folk rock, soul, alternative pop and indie rock. That gives you a fresh and innovative summer sound.

Scott Matthew

Scott Matthew

Scott Matthew is a singer and songwriter from Queensland, Australia, who currently resides in New York City.

He was a former member of the alt pop band Elva Snow, which he co-founded with ex-Morrissey member Spencer Cobrin.  He currently perform as an independent artist, and have released Elva Snow (2005), Scott Matthew (album) (2007), Silent Nights EP (2008) and There Is An Ocean That Divides (2009).

This music is like a melancholy dream. The vocals are strong, emotional and artistically. And the music reminds you pretty much of Antony and the Johnsons. Just less quirky.
It also, somehow puts a spell on you. It’s a less version of chamber pop, and at the same time an orchestral sound.

Market Me To Children is a wonderfully emotional. The combination of classical music and a wonderful vocal makes this to a proper masterpiece.

Ferraby Lionheart

Ferraby Lionheart

Lovely, simple, beautiful, emotional folk-pop tunes. I’m talking about the one and only Ferraby Lionheart. And just look at his name!

This music is original and characteristic, and you can hear that he got his influences from artists like The Beatles, Elliott Smith, Orange Juice, Ronnie Lane, Ray Davies and James Yorkston. And he keep at the same time this music Lionheart. This music can be describes as good old fashioned pop rock – something of a rarity in these days.

He has so far released one EP, Ferraby Lionheart EP (2007) and the debut album Catch The Brass Ring (2007). He’s working on his second album at the moment.

Ferraby Lionheart did a great cover of REM’s Man on the moon. A cover worth to check out.

Time to relax?

A busy weekday can often be a pain. And the best thing you can do, is to relax.

You need music! Relaxing and acoustic music. I recommend John Laval, Camembert and Benjamin Robinson.

John Laval

Acoustic, unique music from the wonderful north of Lake District, UK. This music never gets old, no matter how many times you listen to it. It’s the soft voice, the soft guitar and the extra touch of different sounds effects that makes this music so great.

John Laval has so far released “Stories“; a great EP that includes the songs Stories, You watch me drown, In the line of fire and The fortune.
He’ve also recently composed the soundtrack of a short movie, called “Killing Time”. And a new album will be available in 2010.

Camembert

Camembert was formed in late 2008 in a bedroom in Glasgow by Tim Kwant, Heather Thikey, Joe Williams and Rob Williams.

They have a four-track demo set available on last.fm and some new demos on MySpace.

This is quiet and at the same time innovative and experimental pop. Their sound is unique and carry the fine influences of being a electronic and acoustic live band.

Benjamin Robinson

Benjamin Robinson is a singer and songwriter from Leicester, Midland. His biggest inspiration comes from the one and only Charlie Chaplin and the artwork to J.W Waterhouse and M. Whelan – that’s reason enough to check out the music. He has given out three albums/EP; Faint transmissions, Ammomites and shells and Miscellaneous oddities.

This music isn’t so quiet as the previous artists, but still relaxing. This is dreamy, creative and emotional music on its very best.
