ALBUM RECOMMENDATIONS

Jessie Baylin – ‘Little Spark‘ (17.01.2012)

‘Little Spark’ is Jessie Baylin‘s third solo album, and consists of a lovely combination of lush, summerly and thoughtful pop music.
The video for “Hurry Hurry” is directed by her childhood friend Scarlett Johansson.

Hurry Hurry

Among Savages - ’Wanderings Of An Illustrative Mind‘ (17.01.2012)

Among Savages is 24 year old Nashville, TN based artist Peter Barbee. His debut record “Wanderings of an Illustrative Mind” is a personal narrative about the triumphs and trials of youth. A composer from an early age, Barbee’s songs are filled with hushed moments that burst into bold grandiose, as understated as they are hooky.

Start At The Beginning

 Chairlift – ‘Something‘ (27.01.2012)

‘Something’ is Chairlift‘s second full-length album, released three years after debut ‘Does You Inspire You’.
Carving out slick, swirling electro pop gems, each song demonstrates this new, unique and effortlessly cool direction for the band.

Sidewalk Safari

The Maccabees – ‘Given To The Wild‘ (10.01.2012)
London group The Maccabees are set to make huge waves in 2012 with their new album ‘Given To The Wild’.
Pieced together over two years, the result is yet another highly textured and awe inspiring record. Guitars and percussion layer with a patchwork of sounds, revealing more with each listen.

ARTIST TO WATCH

Who: Daniel and the Scandals, Brighton.

Good to know: The band was formed in 2010.

That little extra: “Kicking off all of their gigs or ‘parties’ as they have now been dubbed, with balloons and free cake should be the key indicator that these guys are heaps of fun and mightily talented.” – http://iblamehollywood.net

The music described in one sentence: Quirky and addictive pop.

For fans of: Mika, The Format, Nightmare of You.

New/upcoming release(s): Debut single ‘I Love You (There You Go I Said It!)’ was released on January 16. Debut album is being recorded.
