Relaxing Music – The Podcast!
Once a year I write one post about relaxing music. The first year I introduced you to John Laval, Camembert and Benjamin Robinson in “Time to Relax?” In “Relaxing Music” for about a year ago you could get to know Barbara Hills and John Rhyman.
And this time, I’ve decided to do something different, and introduce you to the podcast that helped me through my last exam period.
Funny fact: I sent out a tweet for a couple of months ago, where I asked “if anyone knew about any good ambient, meditative music to recommend”. And yes, one guy, Jim Butler replied and said he had something. Ah, the power of Twitter.
Jim Butler is the creator of the ‘Deep Energy’ and ‘Dark Ambient’ podcasts and runs his own label ‘Earth Ambient Records’. He currently has 8 full length paid downloads/CD’s available through iTunes and Bandcamp, plus on several other places.
You can also hear over 40 hours of free music available through the podcasts, which have been downloaded over two million times.
The theme of the podcasts includes “A Quiet Storm”, “Dreams”, “Sunrise”, “Darkness of Silence”, “Almost Silence” and “The Shape of Ghosts” – to name a few!
He specializes in New Age/Ambient/Space Music and dark swirling haunting drones. He lives on a pond in Southwest New Hampshire, USA with his wife, teenage son, two dogs and two cats.
Follow Jim Butler on Twitter and Facebook, and listen to the podcasts on his website.
