Drawn from Bees

Drawn from Bees is an indie/alternative band, based in Queensland, Australia. The members are Dan James (guitar/vocals), Stew Riddle (bass/vocals), Raven Jones (guitar/keys/vocals) and Matt Wedmaier (drums/vocals).

They are a four-piece of musicians that release a new and fresh batch of material every six months. And they are signed to a local Brisbane-based record label, Bonefinger Records, distributed via MGM Distribution.

The Boy and the Ocean was the debut EP, released September 2008. The next EP And the blind Shall Lead the Way came out in March 2009. The latest EP The Sky is Falling was released (ahead of schedule) in October 2009.

The sound of Drawn from Bees is the sound of a band with the crazy idea of releasing as much material on the shortest space of time.

They sounds like a mix of Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Brian Eno, Thomas Dolby and Davie Bowie. And the genre(s) can be qualified as modern art rock, some psychedelic, progressive rock and new wave.

This music is immense and can from time to time be intense (These Philistines), this is also where they have that typical sound of new wave from early the 80′s.

You can hear the mix of modern art rock and alternative in Cables in the Sky and Waiting for the End. A great mix, and the typical sound of Drawn from Bees.
