Jointpop

Jointpop are a rock band, formed in Trinidad and Tobago (1996) by Gary Hector (vocals, guitars), Damon Homer (guitars), Dion Camacho (drums), Jerome Girdharrie (bass) and Phil Hill (keys/synth).

The name Jointpop (Join pop) reflects their music and where they’ve taken their influences; like The Clash, Velvet, Neil Young, Bob Marley, The Mighty Sparrow, U2, Beatles and Sex Pistols combined with some Dylanesque lyrics..

This music is what you can call personal and well developed Caribbean rock music. The lyrics are deep, emotional and extremely clever. That, combined with the unusual mix of Caribbean rock, British pop/rock and ever inventive creativity, makes this music modern and never out-of-date.

Some notable tracks are “The Irony of it all”, “The spelling bee”, “Monday morning love situation” and “Mystery” (all taken from the last album ‘The January Transfer Window’ (2007) and the last doubleĀ  single “Please don’t tell my Inlaws (I’m and Outlaw)”/”Camden Ketchup” (2009).
