Paul Steel is Paul Steel. A psychedelic-a-like Elvis Costello from Brighton.

Paul Steel was signed to Fascination Records in a brief period in 2007; where he released his debut single “Your Loss”. His debut album and the second single “I will make you disappear” were both planned to be released in 2007, but they were both canceled.

He worked in his home studio with his self-released debut album Moon Rock, which was released on July 20th.

The Single “Ocean” was written and recorded in 2007/2008 with Beach Boys’ Stephen Kalinich. The song itself is really good – and can safely be marked as one of his more epic songs. It’s not so quirky as the other songs and made me for some reason think of “Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen”).

Moon rock, yep, it’s addictive. It’s personal, and..

..this is what you hear when Electric Light Orchestra and Elvis Costello get mixed together with a modern psychedelic sound. And when a guy with a more than a inventive mind get locked in to a room with a lot of instruments and a computer. Charming.
